Be a Zero Responder

A zero responder is a person who helps in an emergency before medical professionals arrive. The term was first used in 2010 to describe bystanders who provide care to injured people in a mass casualty incident. Zero responders can play a vital role in the immediate response to a crisis by: Preventing harm, Reporting the crisis quickly, Providing first aid to injured people, Making evacuation decisions, and Encouraging others to evacuate. In the first few moments of an emergency, every second counts. The actions of people at the scene can be crucial in bridging the gap between when a crisis begins and when authorities arrive.
